The Story Behind Paints and Palette

Colours have always been symbols of emotional expressions of an artist. Whether it may be a fiery red colour of passion or a deep blue hue of calmness. Sometimes just colours convey the meanings much more than the words do. In different cultures, colours depict different meanings for example white in western cultures is associated with purity and innocence and used by the brides in wedding ceremonies whereas in eastern cultures represent death and mourning and used by widows as a mark of grief. Understanding colours and their symbolism thus has been very important considering the cultural and historical context.

Colours are mood trackers and help us in tracking our healing journey. When we paint these evoke a sense of satisfaction where each stroke invokes feelings of love, passion, anger, calmness, happiness, joy, purity, royalty, mystery and enthuisiasm.

Foraminifera: The Soul of My Art

Ode to My Forams

Little ones with tiny light,
I call thee my soul’s delight!
You crawl and roll on the deep sea floor,
Opening life’s brand new door!
In a world which lies buried deep,
Unknown in nature’s seep!
Thy name is ‘Foraminifera,’
Studied by only few from a million era!
Studded like stars in oceans blue,
Glow and shine bright with a little clue!
Both in mud and in waves,
Toppling in the unseen caves!
So ancient but still so new,
Both to Science and to only few!
Come in different shapes and sizes,
From coastal sands to deep sea crevices,
“Forams” or “hole bearers,”
Wonders of bits of protoplasms,
Within the varied tests of microcosms!
You hold the key to my heart,
And are the reason for my art.
