Specimen from 3083m Bay of Bengal (core location 84.4486E, 14.6636N), has a cosmopolitan distribution, generally seen from bathyal to upper abyssal depths where the substrate is coarse especially along the continental margin., found in temperate to tropical regions. also has been reported from brackish marshes and lagoons of India (Vellar Estuary, Krishna Godavary Basin).
